I've used vinegar to wet my coffee makers and other small appliances like hot water tanks to get rid of those hard water deposits. An overnight soak is required for a clean result. I tried the CLR based on reviews with some skepticism about those reviews. Wow, CLR blew my mind. It works like magic and cleans my pot of hot water in exactly 2 minutes. I didn't dilute the CLR according to the instructions as I didn't think it would work so I tried it at max power. Fill the pot 1/6 full with water, then slowly row so the CLR reaches the other area. After two minutes the pan is clean, like new. I was so excited and immediately dumped the used CLR in my coffee maker and this time took a picture before cleaning. After two minutes of soaking, CLR works wonders again, as you can see in the "after" picture. So no more soaking the vinegar overnight. Although it's more expensive than vinegar, I don't need a large volume to lather an entire pot or utensil. And the result comes back quickly.
