Main reason for replacement is washability. It's just better for the environment, honestly. Take it out and clean it every 5,000 miles instead of throwing out the normal filter every time and throwing it in the landfill. When replacing the stock I also removed the snorkel. Removing the snorkel is really where minor improvements start to show, as it adds a bit more breathability and also adds a nice extra growl to the bike. In general there are no complaints. Please do not install this in the honest belief that you will get a significant performance boost.
