I read the reviews and bought it anyway. I agree it's flimsy and not the best but for the price it's ok. I bought some wooden dowels from Home Depot to stick into the metal supports for support. And used a transparent tape to reinforce the joints. It's still not the strongest dome, but it didn't fall. We have tapestries draped around it. I would recommend it (with a warning about its fragility) to anyone looking for a reasonably priced dome. But maybe not for children. My nieces would have destroyed it.
