I think our bottom casters broke a few years ago and I just didn't realize they were there as the aluminum door frame has a notch to ride on the rail in the frame. The door was horrible to use and very easy to kink and tear off the track as it just slid over metal on metal. I was going to buy a brand new door from Andersen which would cost about $240 in my color or buy a sacrifice and white door from HD for $140 but I did some more research and found I could get replacement casters. I received them the next day and they literally just stood up and lined up the adjustment screw perfectly with the hole. I thought it would take a bit of fiddling but it was more difficult to fish out the 2 old broken ones where the retaining tabs were broken. Once I installed it and spun the wheels a bit, the first slip was a revelation. Another reason we didn't do this sooner. And another reason to understand why a quality, manufacturer-backed product that you can get parts for in the future is the best buy to start with, rather than throwing it away and buying a brand new product.
