I bought 2 previous Jaccard tenderizers for over $20 each and found them to work really well until I bought CCfoud. It seems easy, but don't let that fool you. This meat tenderizer will probably be the only one I will ever buy again. The handle makes it easy to use, which is a plus, and it tenderizes the meat so you have to be careful not to overdo it. Pork chops can be tricky to cook, especially if they're not marinated first. I cooked a few chops on the stove (no pre-marinating) and while chops usually take about 8 minutes per side depending on thickness, I put them in the pan, went to my bedroom, came back 5 minutes later and as I was turning them over over, they looked ready. So I waited another 2 minutes and sliced it, and not only was it done, it seemed slightly overcooked. I figured I did this job so well that it also reduced the cooking time. I was like no way. So the next day I fried the rest of the chops and some chicken thighs. Again, I used too much fabric softener because after a few repetitive motions the chops started splitting down the middle (talk about pork chops down the middle, LOL). I even tried the fabric softener on boned thighs and was so impressed. Well I got the answer to my question. After the chops were on the grill for about 7 minutes on one side they looked done so I sliced them and they were fully cooked and my son commented on how juicy they were. I cut up a chop and my son and I stood in the kitchen eating it like potato chips. Wow. Wonderful. This fabric softener really cuts down on the cooking time. Next, I place the chicken thighs on the grill. Hips can easily take 20 minutes. I let them cook for 5 minutes and then let them cook on the back side for another 5 minutes. Exactly ten minutes and they were fully cooked. And taste. Oh God! Due to the reduced cooking time, I didn't even have to add charcoal and was able to make 8 packages of beef hot dogs. Finally, I think the reason for the reduced cooking time is that it penetrates the meat better and breaks down the muscle better, almost like it's leaving holes in the meat, which explains the reduced cooking time - at least that's my theory. I think the days of waiting and waiting for meat to cook are over. This tenderizer is cool and costs less than $14. I'm thinking about ordering a backup!
