I bought a used transmission from a junkyard that had a couple of oil pan bolts snapped off so I had to fix them because of a transmission oil leak. I started by buying a cheap spiral coil repair kit off ebay and tried that first. If you are thinking of buying the ebay kit yourself, do yourself a favor and don't! What started as a simple repair turned into a nightmare when the very tool meant to fix the threads destroyed more of them. Boy was I in a cucumber because now not only was the thread screwed up, but now the hole was bigger than it should be. I'm running out of options! Luckily, while searching for a solution, I came across these clever yet simple inserts. These inserts are high quality and do not require the expensive specialty tools required for other common thread repairs. With the help of these inserts, a screwdriver, a conventional drill and bits and the usual thread cutters, I was able to repair a broken thread quickly and easily. they work great! no more broken threads and transmission leaks! what a relief! I definitely recommend them, especially if you've already tried other thread repair methods that didn't work and you think it's impossible to fix them.
