This is a short video where you hear instructions from TomTom and see TomTom's placement. In October 2009 we left the Oklahoma wilderness for the east coast of Maryland. It rained every day for ten days. Before the trip we bought Tom-Tom and we are very happy about it. During the trip there were no disputes, which always happens with paper maps. One person is the driver and the other is the navigator, and the navigator can never quickly or clearly tell the driver which way to go. (Plus, the rattling and snapping of maps can drive you crazy!) Mounting the tom-tom on the windshield worked best for us. Instead of looking at the dashboard, the driver could just stare at Tom-Tom without taking his eyes off the road. Be sure to update your tom-tom map before you start your journey. We still used paper maps. We studied them at home before heading out to familiarize ourselves with the route and took them with us in a van. . . We just never got them out of the glove box!
