added these to my 2001 Ford F-150, just bought with 1110.XXX miles. generally in good condition but because it has a lot of mileage (and you can never tell if the old owners did regular maintenance) I went ahead and serviced it, brake pads, coil pack and spark plugs regularly. They all came with the correct gap width, but take a gap gauge with you to be sure. Generally, this job will take a home mechanic with some experience a couple of hours rather than quick work. Some spark plug replacement tips: 1. If you want to change spark plugs, you can also replace the coil packs or spark plug wires, depending on the model year and engine size. Get a Haynes Guide to check out.2. Get some thick blankets to put under your knees/butts while you work, otherwise it will hurt to crawl all over the engine.3. After removing coil packs/wire covers, take some Aerokroil Penetrating Oil and spray onto the spark plugs, leave for 30+ minutes.4. Not only do you need a large torque wrench to put the spark plugs in at the correct voltage, you also need other sizes of socket wrenches (not the sockets, but the wrenches themselves) to push them all the way in to get the #4 and #8 plugs.5 . Take your time, take breaks if necessary, it's quite a long job and if you're in a hurry you'll end up with broken forks or something.
