Prefer mountain bike clipless pedals but have trouble landing, jumping and falling with xtr pedals. My shoes sometimes fell off when I hit the ground with a good thump. I think the lack of a flat pedal/base caused the heel to drop too much and the clamp to release. Combine them with Shimano flats/skateboard shoes that match these pedals. It hasn't been since then and I like the feel of a less stiff shoe on a flat platform. It's also easier to snap into, and even if you still miss, the pedals are big enough to pedal until you determine where to snap. Love it!
