Review on ๐Ÿ” IVY Classic 27003 Carbon-Steel Lock Installation Kit with Guide Template | Ideal for Wood Doors | Carded Packaging by Johnny Nguyen

Will not fit 1 3/4 " doors. Width is not adjustable - otherwise looks solid

IMO Obvious false advertising. I returned what I purchased and received a full refund. IVY Classic is not that, what he says. There are some inaccuracies in the product description and the model I received does not work with any of the door widths advertised. The width is not adjustable and is too narrow for 1-3/4" thick doors and very loose at 1 -3/8" thick doors. The lock installation kit with guide template for wooden doors was as follows: - Adjustable guide template for easy and accurate drilling with deadbolts to select door width and backset - Adjustable plastic guide template for 1-3/4" thick doors. Adjustable plastic guide template fits 2-3/8" and 2-3/4" wide spines. Includes 1" and 2-1/8" carbon steel hole. Saws and type D mandrel with center drill. Here is their description with mine notes listed below: -- Adjustable guide template for easy and accurate drilling with latch arms to select door width and backset -- This is a lie with a grain of truth -- - True - Latch arms are adjustable like the rear sets 2-3/8, and for 2-3/4 -- Misunderstanding -- Latch lock levers are not adjustable for different door widths -- Unknown/wrong -- Drilling accuracy Impossible as IVY classic does not fit Find out how easy drilling is. -- Adjustable plastic track template fits 1-3/8" and 1-3/4" thick doors -- That's a lie -- - The track is not adjustable. -- It freely fits a 1-3/8" door but will not fit a 1-3/4" door -- The adjustable plastic rail template fits 2-3/8" and 2-3". /4 doors . backsets -- It's true -- It only took three steps to find the real truth in an ad. right When trying to install a new latch, I ordered an IVY Classic. When it arrived it looked like a solidly built device that could do the job I needed it to do. I have found that this is not the case. I couldn't fully fit IVY Classic to my 1-3/4 inch wood door. So I took it off and measured my door, then I measured the IVY Classic. My door was the right width, but the tooling wasn't. Look at the picture. You can see the width of the hole and the marks I made on the ruler. One shows how wide it should be and the other shows how wide it really is. That is not much. Only a sixteenth of an inch or so, but enough to make it useless if you have a door of any thickness. The specs say it adjusts to the width of your door, but it doesn't. You may be thinking about what I did and wondering if writing it down and making it work would be a viable option. But I hope you choose to do what I did and use a different product. No matter how close it may be, IVY Classic is not what you need. Thanks for reading - TMรธllerps - please excuse the format, I'm not sure how this will be published.
