Review on Microsoft P5T 00002 Surface RT 64GB by Brian Martin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best return on your money.

Surface RT offers many features at a very low price. My friend had a Surface Pro 2 and was consistently impressed with it, so I decided to give the Surface a try, but I didn't have a lot of money to spend. I bought a Surface RT for $209. I bought the keyboard used for 60€. You really need a keyboard to get the most out of Surface RT. The Surface RT comes with Windows 8 RT installed, which is sort of a base version of Windows 8. The biggest (and really only) bug I've found with Windows 8 RT is that it gets stuck with Internet Explorer. That means no Chrome and Firefox. You also cannot upgrade to Windows 10. It comes preloaded with Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, which typically cost around $100. The screen size is quite small for those who are used to using full size laptops most of their lives, but I'm definitely used to the screen size and it's not a problem at all now. Decent processor. At the price you really can't complain. You can easily watch Netflix and Youtube and check your email. I've never tried running games on it, but would definitely recommend getting a different device if that's your goal. The USB port is very convenient and that's what sets this device apart from other similarly priced devices. You will be surprised at how thin this device is. It's very easy to carry around. Ideal portability. The battery life is excellent. I typically get around 7-9 hours of continuous use, 4-5 if just watching Netflix or Youtube. Upgrading to Windows 10) but would recommend the Surface RT to anyone who wants a very powerful device but doesn't want to spend $500+ on the latest Surface versions.
