When we first moved into our new home 10 years ago, we had constant problems with the smoke detector closest to the kitchen so I replaced it with this compatible heat detector. It was time to replace all the sensors so I decided to replace them with the same brands as I had 10 years of service in total. This family of Kidde alarms are direct replacements. I was lucky that I didn't have to change the pigtails, they were just disconnected and replaced. The whole process took about 30 minutes for 5 pieces. I checked each one with no problems. They are now a month old and still have no problems. Very impressive.
