I have an African clawed frog. This is a cute little pet, but keeping the aquarium clean has been a challenge. They produce a lot of waste, mostly uneaten food. The food then promotes algae growth. And they are very sensitive to water surface vibration and high flow filters. I haven't tried common water filters, internal filters, and sponge filters, and none of them have been enough to keep the water clean without unduly stressing my frog. So I tried this filter. I fill it with Marineland ceramic biofiltration pellets, a Seachem bag, Deep Blue Phosphate filters and aquarium-grade polyester wadding. My water is crystal clear! And it stays clear for a few weeks - only in the third week does it start to fog up slightly. Previously, the tank didn't stay clean for more than five days. Froggy also loves the filter - she will use the incline to lie down and relax, and sometimes even swim in the bubbles, they obviously don't bother him. Wonderful.
