Bought to replace a more expensive flashlight that had completely failed. Although it looks the same as my old one, most BTUs are slightly larger. This torch is very powerful. You can hear it coming. Kills weeds on contact. It should also work well on snow and ice. However, since I live in Arizona, I can't test this. This unit will work with a 14.1 ounce propane tank or a 16.4 ounce propane tank. These tiny tanks can be purchased at your local hardware store. I don't understand why it doesn't work for other projects too. Good tool for the price. works well for small weeds on the patio or in the driveway, but not so well for large weeds in the garden. Use with caution, be careful not to set your house on fire. Always let it cool down when you're done with it. it gets very hot, always keep a bucket of water or a hose nearby. in general it is good!
