I've tried different styles and sizes of phone tripods over the years and most of them are just very cheap, unstable and hardly able to hold something as light as a cell phone, more stable than my trembling hands could. But this device seems to be doing a pretty good job. Despite being slightly larger than most much smaller devices, it folds quite compactly but can unfold into a fairly stable mount. Now, the footprint of the legs themselves is not very big, so I wouldn't recommend placing this device on very soft surfaces like grass or sand (although it can work well in such situations), but on hard ground it is possible. Exceptionally good. The height adjustment is nice and works much higher than I expected. And the remote shutter release was very easy to connect without even looking at the instructions and both buttons work on my Samsung Galaxy S10+. And holding down the shutter button does the same thing as long-pressing your phone's shutter button.
