Review on πŸ–‹οΈ Sakura 1.25mm Precision Pen by Lori Aguirre

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good pen for difficult work.

This is a disposable plastic pen with a metal clip. I bought a size 0.25 in brown for class. The ink is acid free, archival safe. This pen leaves a small dot if you hold it on paper for too long, as you can see in the attached photo. I tend to apply too much pressure which eventually wears down the tip. Does not smudge, distributes ink evenly. It doesn't have much resistance when you use it. The ink is based on pigments rather than the dyes used in many pens. This gives it greater stability, since pigment molecules are around 100 times larger than dye molecules. The ink does not spread or smear, the lines are very clear. I will use it on fabric. If you use it on fabric, you must prewash the fabric before using the pen. The fabric cannot be washed after applying the pen. I know fabric manufacturers who don't prewash the fabric and get good results. I think a pre-flush might provide long-term stability, but I'm not sure. The attached photo shows from top to bottom: Micron 01 0.25mm, Y&C Permawriter II, Pilot Frixion, Uniball Fine.
