Review on 🚗 Reese Towpower 74642 Brakeman Compact Brake Control with Time-Based Functionality by Marco Huff

The brake controller was well packaged and arrived before the promised date. It is very easy to install and compact so hitting it with a shin or knee is not a problem. I've encountered this issue with other large or bulky controllers. Ouch! The only negative I can say about this product is that if you are installing this controller in a later model Ford using the factory wiring harness you will need to do some homework on the correct wiring diagram. Wire harness and controller colors do not match. If you connect its color to color, you will try the controller. I found a thread on erailer.com that describes the correct wiring and of course it was different. I would recommend getting a matching aftermarket wiring harness for this controller to match the car as they have already corrected the colors to match the car. After purchase, the colors on both must match. I gave it 4 stars because I'm an electrician and it was pretty easy for me to figure out the correct wiring with a little research. If a newbie installs it, the rating would be much lower. Take your time and make sure before applying power. If you don't know, ask a professional to install it for you, or you will buy another one.
