I was glad to see your pump. Hooray! Then I read the manual and I see "NOT RUN WITH OIL" And then I read the sentence "DO NOT RUN WITHOUT OIL OR THE PUMP WILL OVERHEAT" (enthusiasm flies). So I go back online to order the only oil they recommend...($150 a gallon!).... And you end up ordering a decent premium oil for $18 a liter... and finding out that $10 a liter Harbor Freight Compressor Oil is a perfect match! Fill in correct amount of oil and connect and then switch on. Grinding noises in the first 10 minutes. while the sloppy bits wear away and smooth the roughness. I wasn't expecting to have a sewing machine, but I paid a lot more - DOUBLE - than a cheap one so I'd have a long-lasting machine...which I highly doubt, judging by the start-up sound. All caps should be replaced with brass caps and O-rings to seal if all fittings are not used. The plastic caps are a joke, they don't hold vacuum. If you only intend to use them for your car air conditioner every few years, this will work fine. If you're trying to build your own milking machine or vacuum chamber for a wood or metal workshop...keep shopping...or better yet, heat up an old throwaway fridge and hook up a cooling pump to the vacuum side...that I'll do end up shelving like a good lesson in supply-side economics and disappointment.
