This is a warm, mid-weight coat. Runs small compared to the size chart. My son is 8 years old and this coat fits him perfectly and he is a skinny size. According to the size chart it should fit a medium size but judging by this coat it would run small in my opinion. The coat falls just below my son's buttocks when he's standing and he's about 53 inches tall. The inside of the coat has warm flannel around the chest, stomach and back. Warm fleece around the waist and neck. The sleeves have a slippery polyester lining that allows the long sleeves to be easily pulled down. The exterior is made of thick, durable canvas material. The sleeve has a faux leather trim and the end of the sleeve has an elasticated cuff that keeps warm air out and cold out . The button on the sleeve is only decorative, not functional. There are two pockets on the front, big enough for my adult hands, and they close. The coat closes with a heavy metal zip This has a faux leather stretch zip for extra insulation against the cold The coat has a small amount of padding or polyester inside which makes it look like it is lightly filled with down This coat is warm and comfortable.
