Review on Zyliss Smoothslizer Vegetable Spiralizer Interchangeable by Rebecca Perry

Absolutely awful for kitchen utensils and gadgets

I have a few Zyliss products in my kitchen that I swear by so I was really hoping for this one. Unfortunately, this gadget turned out to be a complete disaster. After unboxing it and setting it up according to the instructions that came with it, I decided to try the pumpkin and nut lasagna included in the set. the same booklet, assuming a prescription from the company would certainly be a good place to start. TIP: The recipes in the booklet are all metric. If you are unfamiliar with the metric system, make a note of the equivalent US sizes on the page before you begin. While the sauce from the recipe was simmering, I attempted to add a pumpkin cylinder, cut to the metric size listed. in the car. I deliberately chose the flattest squash I could find, thinking it would make the widest leaves. Oh when I think how I hoped for that hope! The first hurdle I encountered was getting the plastic holders to pierce the cut ends of the pumpkin cylinders. I had to use a small hammer to hammer them in. Of course, they must be placed directly parallel to the long sides of the vegetable cylinder to ensure even contact with the blade and get leaves like those pictured on the box. As I turned the block into a slicer and slid the knife block into place, I began flipping the pumpkin. He went through twice and cut off the edges and half of the pumpkin's useful leaf. That's all. Turning the handle again did nothing. I took everything apart and tried again, carefully following the instructions, and the zucchini swirled and swirled without a single piece. Eventually I called my husband to see if he could get the blade holder tighter onto the gourd while I twisted the handle, but no matter what we did it just twisted over and over. You can watch my video to see for yourself. Despite what I said in the restaurant dinner video, I was able to use the sauce (it was dry so I added what was left of a 728g can of tomatoes only named for 400g) by adding tagliolini made for it (unfortunately this one was all I had). The sauce wasn't bad and it probably would have made a very tasty lasagna if it wasn't for the device that didn't work. The best thing I can say about this food slicer is that the suction works better than any vacuum I have ever seen. . Once I got the trigger in the induction position it took me a lot of effort to push it to the edge of the countertop to get it off the counter and to be honest I never want to put this unit back on. Try other blades as well, as my Paderno spiral cutter already does an excellent job with this one.
