I bought it for the second time despite this problem: Other wireless signals can turn on the light and cause it to change modes. The receiver in the light doesn't seem to be able to tell our remote control from the TV, or the remote control from the dish, or some others. I'm assuming it's some inexpensive circuit in the lamp, so I walk into the room and find that the mode has changed or is turning on by itself. Still a fun lamp to start a conversation or to entertain kids or get together. You can always unplug the battery if you want it to stay off. It would be nice if it stayed in always-on mode instead of falling into flickering jitter modes. All in all we enjoyed the set so much that we bought another set. for grandchildren.
