This scope is beautifully designed and ready to use almost immediately. The image quality at low magnification is excellent. The brightness suffers at higher, especially maximum magnification. To be expected for a spotting scope. For a hundred bucks, this scope matches much more expensive ones in my opinion. The table tripod is fairly durable and is ideal for quick shots from the top of a car or any solid surface. If you're buying a full-size tripod, I recommend buying a medium or heavy-duty tripod. The scope isn't that heavy, but the extra weight of the tripod reduces wobble and allows you to maneuver the scope easily. I'm glad I bought this scope rather than shelling out a few hundred bucks more for a bigger and better known brand.
