Review on πŸ”Œ High-Quality Power Steering Pump with Reservoir for Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7L (2001-2004) and Dodge Ram 1500 8.3L (2004-2006) Viper 8.3L (2003-2006) by Matthew Hoang

Zero problems so far.

Replaced whining and complaining regular pump. 1000km so far. 2004 Grand Cherokee, 4.7-N. Save yourself the hassle of pulling the pulley. A new Dorman pulley (Dorman 300-310) is only $12. I used a 3/8-16 bolt with a nut, bushing and some washers to press onto the new pulley. There was tight pressing but not difficult. The new pump is quiet after I blow out the air bubbles. I never realized how tight my steering wheel was until I replaced the pump. Parking is now a dream. The hydraulic fan now runs at high speed when needed and the coolant temperature has dropped by 7f. Pump. Most new pumps are underbored and you will starve the system and burn out the new pump in a few months. They are not designed for steering fans and hydraulic cooling. Instead of swapping them out, I just took the new one off and drilled it to the factory size. If you're shooting for swapping or drilling, be careful removing - there's a feather on the back flying around your shop! You also have to remove the tank to get a hole.
