After receiving and installing this shelf I have to say I was wondering if it was worth the money. It's well made and works very well, but I felt like I could do the same with a simple belt and ratchet. But now that I've used it for a while, I'm convinced. It is very easy to tension the cables after loading the SUP. The only reason I gave four stars is the price. At $220, it's 5 to 10 times more expensive than regular straps. So if cost is an issue, stick with simple straps and a ratchet. If you don't feel sorry for the money, it's much more convenient. For me it's worth the money and I'm glad I made this purchase.
