I bought these to replace my old Timberlands which I wear almost every day and have owned for so long I can't remember , when I bought them . See photos. The new shoes are beautiful and well made. However, when I took the paper liner out of the sock, I was disappointed to find that someone at Timberland had come up with the great idea of cutting off the liner just behind where you see with your eye and leaving your toes on the sock for a rough finish Sole of the shoe without or damaged. Pad. It's like going back to your favorite hotel. The room looks great. But you go to bed only to realize you've decided to use shorter sheets to save money. You can still sleep in a bed, but you will never be comfortable. I've been wearing them for about 10 days and they are uncomfortable even with socks. I can feel the roughness of the unfinished toe and feel the ground through the forefoot. Why Timberland did that with such a great shoe is incomprehensible. You can't save more than a cent or two per unit. I'm sure they will lose more in returns and lost customers. I would certainly pay a few euros more for a shoe with a great insole. I was tempted to rip out those insoles and use the old ones from my old boots. But the insoles are glued together. It would be great if Timberland acknowledged the error of judgment that led to this error and sent their customers a new complete insole free of charge.
