I chose this backpack for the extra compartments, the fold out tent and the fact that it has a flat top so my cat can sit on it with her harness whenever she wants. My one-year-old cat Castiel loves him and climbs into him voluntarily. My partner and I taught him to climb in boxes when he was a baby, mainly because he gets crazy energy at night and won't let us sleep unless we put him in a stall. So he's used to being buttoned up. My 14-pound 13-year-old striped Toby, on the other hand, isn't a fan of the pack, poor chap. I'll get my grumpy old man a more structured pack. I thought I would. He's a big, big guy. The backpack itself is great. A bit flimsy which is what I expected considering it has so many collapsible parts. I would have preferred if the bottom was stronger. But I will add a small board to change it. Love all the zippers for opening different windows and the straps are great. Actually no complaints about anything. But just for fun, here's a photo of my grumpy old man who wasn't impressed with his brother's new travel backpack.
