This is a good bread bin but only for quick bread. You cannot store home-baked white or wheat bread in it because the box is too short. The handle at the top is completely useless. It's so slippery and round you can't hold onto it. It's airtight enough (I live in a very dry climate). There is an edge at the edge. So if you want to cut a slice of banana bread, your knife will hit the rim of the bottom skin and therefore cannot cut all the way through without slicing and moving with the knife point. on the lower tray so that it scratches the lower tray. Bad design. I also ordered red, came aquamarine.
