Review on HT116: High-Performance Digital Multimeter with NCV, TRMS, and Versatile Measuring Functions - Accurate AC/DC Voltage, Current, Resistance Measurement by Owen Houser

This is now my favorite device because it's so small and includes a soft case for easy storage. I work a lot with automotive electronics, so this meets all the usual DMM requirements. Basic circuit testing and measurements of probe and circuit resistance matched my old Fluke 87 and Mac DMMs for response and accuracy. The small protective case is similar in size to the larger iPhone case, and the new readings are very pleasing to the eye. Not sure how long the battery life will be as the display is much larger than older LCD types. Being able to cram so much into a small package amazes me as I'm used to full size old style gauges. Frequency, capacitance and non-contact voltage in one small package! The form factor is definitely more smartphone-like for a familiar feel. The cables aren't terrible and I don't expect them to feel like high-end offerings, but they get the job done and plug in from the bottom of the DMM. . The battery cover for the 3AAA is held in place by a single screw, but I made the mistake of removing two screws, a top one and the other was actually a case screw. Would be a great first DMM for anyone in this price range, but I have it in my regular race car and off-road toolbox and not worried about accuracy or durability yet!
