It's summer and we love our tomato sandwiches. But this tool is NOT for tomatoes! I tried this on two tomatoes, both are quite hard. And it messed them both up, pretty much mush them up. The remaining "core" was thick and concave with a long trailing edge. I've tried with and without the "feed holder", which is conical in shape with a slightly pebbly surface that can be gripped with dry hands; Forget about taking it with wet hands! But don't make the mistake of using it for tomatoes as the internal spring is quite strong and will flatten your fruit. Works well with onions.
