Designed for safety

This mandoline slicer is EXTREMELY sharp. However, it turned out tonight to be easy and safe to use on a few settings we tried, and easy to clean with a kitchen sprayer. Thin slices of cucumber, potatoes with matches.

Best After Slicing Bread

I used this to slice zucchini to make zucchini lasagna. It was so easy and it worked fantastically. The thickness of the slices can be easily adjusted. There is only one blade in the kit that fits me. I love how strong it is. It folds up for easy storage right on my counter or in the closet. Absolutely to recommend.

My kitchen went from Flintstones to Jetsons

I unpacked this OXO mandoline slicer today and can't believe I was stupid enough not to buy it a year ago. I had a liter jar filled with thinly sliced red onions for marinating in under 2 minutes. Super sharp, super easy to clean, super easy to clean when folded. One of the best kitchen purchases I've ever made.

  • Beautiful packaging

Great product, I use it to cook steak fries.

Great product, I use it for fries and it works great! Don't use it without the food stand though! The first time I used it I sliced an English cucumber (which I couldn't fit in the food stand) and immediately cut my finger! Now I'm missing a fingertip, it was a very deep cut, the bleeding didn't stop. The blades are very sharp, be careful!

Can't take it! suitable for kitchen utensils and gadgets

I have used this several times. Initially I thought it was a great all in one design, especially the way it folds and stores. But very soon it became difficult to move the lever to control the thickness of the slice and it became almost impossible to move it into julienne mode. I would return but short return period expired! Returning a defective item and an item you no longer need should be different! If you want more options for slice thickness etc, get the best, possibly made in Germany or…

Perfection! at Kitchen Utensils and Gadgets

It really works. Simple, strong, sharp. I tried a more expensive model with detachable parts and complicated settings but couldn't get it to work. As a result, I threw it in the trash and started looking for a better option. That's it! I mainly use it to cut potatoes. You get along without waste. I've also used it to thinly slice carrots and it worked great. As well as chopped zucchini and cucumbers. I should have known OXO would be the answer. Update: I just used it to chop leeks and potatoes…

Pros
  • Finally bought it
Cons
  • Makes me nervous

Save yourself some time!

Should have bought mandolin many years ago. This made slicing onions for french onion soup very quick. Have also used it for slicing apples for fries and cucumbers for salad. I love that it's all one piece so I don't have to worry about extra blades around the house and it's very easy to change blade widths. For now I've mostly used 1/16 width, but I'm sure the rest will be perfect. What I don't like is that the carrot turned orange after cutting. Oxo should use a higher quality stain resistant

Pros
  • Good product for the price

Choose vegetables first!

It's summer and we love our tomato sandwiches. But this tool is NOT for tomatoes! I tried this on two tomatoes, both are quite hard. And it messed them both up, pretty much mush them up. The remaining "core" was thick and concave with a long trailing edge. I've tried with and without the "feed holder", which is conical in shape with a slightly pebbly surface that can be gripped with dry hands; Forget about taking it with wet hands! But don't make the mistake of using it for tomatoes as the…
