I needed a gate to separate the kitten box latrine from the rest of the pet area because my dogs would sneak into the box and eat the cat poop making a mess. My cat can easily jump over it and still do her toilet duties when the gate is in place, so it's not a problem for the cat. This gate solved that problem. We also bought latches to attach it to the wall and toilet to keep dogs from knocking it over. Problem solved. The gate is also very beautiful.
