I needed a gate to separate the kitten box latrine from the rest of the pet area because my dogs would sneak into the box and eat the cat poop making a mess. My cat can easily jump over it and still do her toilet duties when the gate is in place, so it's not a problem for the cat. This gate solved that problem. We also bought latches to attach it to the wall and toilet to keep dogs from knocking it over. Problem solved. The gate is also very beautiful.

Gate is great for blocking off kitchen, hallway etc. Recommended for small/toy dogs only - larger dogs can easily move them if not attached to one in some way door opening, etc. (not included with the hanging device). This gate is shorter than the children's gate but my big dog won't jump over it. My little Jack Russell mix can easily jump over it but he can't. He's learned to stay in the kitchen when it's her. We wanted something that would keep our dog off the stairs so he wouldn't go upstairs and torment our cat, but also something that our young children could easily maneuver and reach around AND looked good too without breaking the bank - this goal is for you. I had to block access from the hallway to other rooms so that my puppy wouldn't have an accident on the carpet. It worked great on day one until she realized she could knock him off his feet. She is under 5 pounds! As she threw him to the ground, her head went through the flower slats. I was afraid it might get stuck, but I pulled it out easily. The gates are made quite strong and have sufficient thickness. It has some weight but not enough when a puppy or adult dog wants to walk the other way.
