Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Enhanced Control and Stability with Monroe 58642 Load Adjust Shock Absorber by Wayne Burkett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent results and easy installation.

Ordered a pair of Sensa-Trac load matched shocks for my 2006 F-150 Supercrew. Flawless ordering process. With the help of my wonderful neighbor we installed it in about an hour. Took them for a test drive today and wow what a difference. It's like a different car. Much smoother ride through the endless road works and broken sidewalk near my house. I tow trailers often and I'm sure they live up to their reputation for a smooth and supportive ride. I would like to give some hints about the installation. First spray the old bolts/nuts with WD40. We have completed the installation on my flat driveway. At first I used a scissor jack under the axle but it prevented the bottom bolt from loosening. We decided to use a jack, raise the frame and remove the tire for easier access to the bolts. We slid the tire under the axle and gearbox for safety reasons. Both shocks required a slight compression adjustment to align the bottom bolt. We just used a short 2x4 to slightly compress the shock to line it up with the bore. As mentioned on the F150 truck forums, this damper actually added 3/4 of an inch to the body height at the wheel. I'm expecting it to settle down a bit, but I'm thrilled.
