Review on ๐Ÿ’ช Efficient and Durable: Red Lion 14942402 Submersible Deep Well Pump by Joshua Follansbee

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Okay so far. for water pumps, parts and accessories

The problem with reviewing this product is that it should last ten years in my well (the last one lasted over 20 years). I installed it and it works. I was pleasantly surprised that it came with a splicing kit. However, the last pump I had had built in wire (came with 200 feet of wire) so it didn't even require splicing. Maybe I'll write another review in 10 years if I'm still alive. This pump seems to pump faster than the old one despite having the same horsepower. The motor on this pump is Franklin Electric, just like the Goulds motor I had before. Note: Franklin Electric is willing to honor its warranty on this pump even though it was purchased from Revain. The Flotec people have told me that when purchased from Revain their pumps come with no warranty whatsoever. PS For some reason, Revain says in the description that it only pumps up to 100ft, but looks elsewhere at the specs of that pump and confirms this with Franklin. Electric (parent company of Red Lion) this pump works up to 200 feet. The flow rate naturally decreases with deeper wells. My pump is about 170 feet deep, but since my static water level is only about 50 feet below that, only the difference really matters. Updated May 10, 2013. The pump has been in the well for more than six months. So far no problems. If you're lowering this pump yourself, I suggest buying a stainless steel cable reel that will hold 200 pounds and connect it to the pump (there's a grommet on the pump for that). If necessary you can raise the pump by wrapping the cable around 2 x 4 and twisting to raise the pump. It's easy to do, much easier than setting up a tripod.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
