Review on 🔒 Seatylock Mason U Lock - Patented Heavy Duty Anti-Theft Diamond Secure U Lock - Ultra Secure Bicycle Safety Tool for City Electric or Mountain Bikes and Scooters (7.1 Inch) by Kevin Gunnmann

Sturdy, small, light, strong and secure lock for sale.

It was a great lock for me. Much lighter and less bulky than my previous Sold Secure Silver lock. I'm sure the plastic cover helps prevent freezing. It's still a U-lock so it could still be vulnerable to a bottle jack if a thief fits it in the slot, but it's fairly small so can be tricky. I think it will be quite resistant to hand tool attacks. I've had it for over 6 months now and I've had no problems. Lubrication was not yet required. The keys feel stiff and give a lot of leverage. I haven't seen any signs of burglaries and sometimes leave my bike in downtown Chicago. For the first few months I left the lock loose in my basket while riding, which must have hit it hard, but it was fine apart from a few superficial scratches where the plastic rubbed against the steel basket. Now I use a mount holder. This is much neater but quite stiff to put the lock on and remove, to the point where I cut my finger trying to remove it once. Since the U-piece is triangular in cross-section, it also means you can mount the lock flush with the frame, which most people will do. But if you have two water bottles (or other items) taking up space in the center of the frame, you'll need to mount them outside of this plane; To do this, you need to adjust the mount at a 30 or 60 degree angle so that the latch doesn't collide with your legs. Sorry it's not very clear on the plate but it will if you try to mount it outside the frame. There's a useful bit of silicone that fills the gap between the U and the locking mechanism very neatly, which seems to help reduce water ingress and make it harder for a tool to get into the gap.
