Not 100% suitable for a 1999 Suburban K1500 despite selecting the correct vehicle prior to purchase. 1) Steering input shaft (short shaft) oil seal too large (one of the main leak areas). 2) Ball nut stand o-ring and teflon o-ring are too big. 3) The end cap o-ring is also too big. 4) The C-clamp for the end cap is also too big. Basically all you can do is replace the o-rings in the valve body section and the oil seal on the bipod shaft. For your information, dimensions from bore and shaft to stuffing box for short shaft: bore diameter 32mm and shaft 20mm. It seems that the major auto parts stores in my area, O'Reilly's and Autozone, mix up part numbers for the gaskets required for this steering model. I'm still waiting for a proper seal after 3 days of removing the steering box from my SUV. So brace yourself by having access to a second vehicle. There are other owners on the forums claiming the same problems with an oil seal that is too big for a short shaft. I have already opened and used the parts that I could, so it cannot be returned.
