This part number was listed as a starter replacement for my '95 S-10 4.3L Code W 4x4 PU. It's wearable. with minimal extra effort. The starter motor section looks the same as removed, however the solenoid section is larger. If you have changed the starter to S10, the gap dimensions are very narrow. You have to move a lot and try different ways/angles to get in or out. The big solenoid doesn't help! Also on the original block there is a heat shield over the solenoid. This replacement starter does not include this sign. The original kit shield can be adjusted by spreading it apart to match the replacement starter solenoid's expanded bolt pattern. There was no information in the instructions that a sign was required. It will not fit without modification, there may be a tendency to omit it. The solenoid is located very close to the exhaust manifold, I figured the shield was there for a reason. Conclusion: This replacement works and the engine starts well. I would recommend it given the limitations listed.
