Whoever came up with this didn't think much of it. And that's putting it mildly. The plastic is hard. I would prefer something softer. I would feel that in the event of an accidental drop the console would be safer if it was padded. Also, there is no cover or protection whatsoever for the top of the 3DS. And the worst thing - and this is a BIG PROBLEM - THERE IS NO WAY TO ACCESS THE STYLE. The 3DS requires occasional use of the stylus for many games and functions, so the stylus is an important item. YOU NEED IT. Oh, and one more thing - this thing can't be removed without the use of a screwdriver or a tool, making detaching and detaching what you have to do to get to the stylus a real headache.
