Please note this little guy is only 15/32" (0.46875) wide, not 1/2" as listed (measured with Starrett C604RE 6" Ruler -6). All other stated measurements and dimensions are accurate. In addition, this is a great little metal ruler. Just thick enough to keep it snug and accurate and thin enough to allow enough flex on uneven surfaces if needed. This thinness sometimes makes it difficult to select, especially on flat, smooth, smooth surfaces (e.g. sheet metal, glass, some types of plastic). but that's because of the small fisheye lens. Look closely at the markings around the 3 inch line). Take its brother, the Mitutoyo 182-105, if you need more stiffness/less flex. but it's worth it.
