These test strips are great when you just want a quick picture of your water condition. In connection with the Tetra app, you will doubt yourself and make an appointment for an eye test, because what you see on the strip is different from what the app sees. I scanned the same strip about 5 times and got different readings all 5 times. The lighting conditions have to be absolutely perfect for the app, but even then you will still see it differently from the app. I don't really believe in the accuracy of these strips either. Sometimes I get two different colors on the same pad, or I have pads that go well with other pads. API makes a much nicer and more accurate freshwater kit (it uses real water samples) for about $10-$15 more that offers over 200 tests each. I mainly use them to check for chlorine in my water when doing water changes. This seems to be the only thing we agree on with the appendix. Buy them when they're on sale and you want to know the condition of your water at a glance, but don't rely solely on these test strips for regular water maintenance.
