The best radar detector on the market!

Before you consider buying a speed camera detector, check your local laws on the matter! If you are caught with one of these and you are in a place where it is illegal, it will be confiscated and you will be fined. In short, Virginia and the District of Columbia are the only states that have outright bans on radar detectors. If you are a commercial vehicle it is always illegal. Know your laws because I wouldn't want anyone to lose such a wonderful device to a cop. It doesn't tell you where the police are...it tells you where the police are using radar so you know. It also doesn't give you the right to drive like an idiot. Combine this with Waze and you have a great ticketless driving experience. My favorite R7 improvements over other radar detectors: -Arrows -Screen -BSM filtering -Ambient light sensor -Future GPS auto lock update -Power cord moved to the right side and micro USB suction cup mount. This detector is based on the Uniden R3 platform, which is already a leader in this field. Uniden listened to us when we asked for an interior upgrade, and we got faster signal processing, better graphics, and dual antennas. Build quality is good, but not great. If you drop this thing, you probably screwed it up. It creaks and creaks when pressed against the knuckles, and the case itself is very prone to scratches and scuffs. This might be why they included a neoprene sleeve along with a hard case. The bezel feels incomplete as it moves too easily when pressed. The size is definitely larger and more comparable to the Valentine 1. If you're looking for a discreet detector, this isn't for you. The power cord has now been moved to the right side so you don't have to worry about it mounting next to the visor. The speaker sounds better than my old V1. The mount has been greatly improved. It no longer wobbles or bounces while moving, and the angles have been increased. Feels really solid and safer. There's only play when you try to wiggle left and right, which isn't really a problem. I'm reaching out here for something to pick on the mountain. It's too good to be true for something this big. Arrows are useful, but not necessary for most. There are two camps...commands "if it squeaks, slow down" and "where is it coming from." Nice to have to give you a better sense of the road and surroundings. The screen may be difficult to see, especially in sunlight or bright light. I like the size of the display, which makes it easier to gather information. All functions are for Mute/Mark. BSM filtering has been slightly improved on Honda/Acura vehicles. 24.199 and 24.200 can be locked in settings. Automatic GPS lock will be added through a software update after the patent expires. This makes the detector smarter in the city and automatically shuts down known false alarms using GPS. Basically, train your radar to ignore things just by driving around town. Why should I buy? The big screen with dual antennas and the future with automatic GPS locks make it worth an upgrade for me. Since Uniden is doing a great job with firmware and database updates, I expect this detector will only get better with time! Not for everyone in this price range. This is for those who want the best like me.
