Moves a lot of water. I wanted to replace our canister filter with a smaller profile one that was submersible and was concerned it would significantly reduce flow in my 30 gallon tank. It meets these requirements, but there are no other settings. So if I wanted to change the current, I couldn't. For the price I would just get a different filter if that was a problem. I took the activated carbon out of the filter and replaced it with a regular cut to size filter and the flow is still great. It gets a bit noisy when you adjust the bubble flow, but that doesn't bother me. With the bubble valve closed it is almost silent, without the bubble valve cap it is absolutely silent. I'll probably add a sponge filter to my aquarium later if filtration isn't in place, but for now it seems to be doing its job well.
