The wooden handle is rough, splintery wood.
It feels terribly in the hand, not to mention the risk of splintering. I tried sanding the rough surface but to no avail. The wood itself is soft and porous. Rinse water would be a disaster and raise the grain even more. I painted the handle with thick acrylic paint hoping it would be smooth. My hand is shatterproof now, but the texture is still rough, rough, and way too cheap.
