I use AN type aluminum hardware in many applications. If you don't want to scratch or damage the fitting, you should definitely use an anodized aluminum wrench. This is where this tool can be very useful. Rather than having lots of separate wrenches for all different sizes of AN fittings, making an adjustable wrench was a smart way to cover many sizes with just one tool. The GOOCA design uses key jaws to more or less index the corners of the fitting rather than flat surfaces (like most adjustable wrenches). I'm sure they had their reasons, but that's too stupid. I believe this design makes for a better purchase of the fitting with less rounded corners, but you need to plan carefully how to attach the wrench to the fitting as the wrench is a little cumbersome to begin with and has become even more cumbersome as a result of the corner jaws split. When you're in a tight space, you don't have room to attach a wrench (you can't just snap it on) and then turn it too. I like the idea of a wrench for AN fittings, but I think the design of a regular wrench is better. The manufacturing of the key is very good and accurate, but the design needs some work.
