Previous product reviews were written by people who did not understand what they were buying. The ZigBee gateway is needed for battery-powered devices, in my case, "scenario switches. These are something like switches, but not connected to chandeliers and lamps, but powered by batteries like CR2032 and allowing you to switch different smart home devices connected to Smart Life and Alice. You program buttons and by pressing them you can turn off all the lights in the house, reduce the brightness of chandeliers, etc. A 4-button switch allows you to set 12 combinations (click, double click and long press) on each button. There are also ZigBee lamps. They not much different from Wi-Fi counterparts, but allow you to connect more devices. So read up on ZigBee, Tuya, Wi-Fi, etc. before buying. smart devices.
