I misread the title and quickly discovered that the "white gold" earrings are actually silver. I took the earrings off for about a week to allow my ears to heal and then tried the yellow backs as they are said to be 14k gold. They don't bother my ears as much as the silver ones, but still cause some discomfort. I took them off to clean tonight and the gold color is coming off. That doesn't mean they aren't 14k gold, but from the way my ears react to it, I think they're just gold plated. In addition, these substrates are huge. My earrings are very small studs and while holding the earrings they look very odd.
