It's good, but I didn't want to spend the money

It's good, it's certainly not great, and I only ordered it because of the accumulated number of gift cards and points. I ordered this because I wanted the removal to be less of a hassle compared to the 3M adhesive I have had to peel off on many different vehicles and was trying a different route. There just aren't many options for this camera other than using some clamp mounts and combining some parts into your own DIY build. The metal material is certainly solid and sturdy, two thumbs up for the lack of brittle plastic parts. It's more something that needs to be on the outside of the car and manipulated. The clamp for holding the camera is fine, it clamps just enough to hold it steady, but you can make micro-adjustments if you like. As another comment says, there is no lock feature. So if anyone sees them or wants them, they can take the camera. Sure, they could just take the mirror off and still have it, but when you want something strong nothing is ever certain, right? The puff sequence felt awkward and I kept pacing, watching live footage and loosening the top and bottom as needed. I finally got my angles right and tightened the top one last time as instructed. It's not that heavy, it just hurts, like there needs to be some sort of quick-cast lever in there to lock it in place while you tighten the rest. Or maybe a second pair of hands could help, I don't know. In any case, after fully tightening, I feel like this thing is now semi-permanently secured, meaning the only way to rip it off or loosen it is to do so with the supplied Allen key (that's a bonus too ). The bottom line is that this mount works and works great for once. Furnished. It fits snugly in my rearview mirror on my 2018 Outback with Sight and I have no problems with it. I removed the extended link for a better fit and it's completely hidden. I just wish this thing was $80 or so. Of course, if you buy picatinny mounts for your rifle your cost is in the same order of magnitude so I guess it's not that bad. That being said, if you got some one-time income or gift cards and points, you won't regret it.
