Review on MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4 225/45 R18 95Y summer by Wiktor Getka ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Valuable purchase, nothing but pluses!

I'm writing based on my initial observations after 200 kilometers and after switching the fantastic Continental winter tires mounted on spikes. Before it, there was a summer one called Nokian Hakka (2022), which I wrapped into rags even though I didn't enjoy it. Ford Mondeo, size 205/55 R16, 145 horsepower Great tires, in a nutshell! Nokian cannot be compared to them at all because they created noise, didn't stick to the road, and broke very easily. Well, at least he avoided a collision. Michelin tires are soft, yet yesterday I was driving on them at +3 degrees in the snow along the highway and it seemed "like on dry land"! Even in such conditions, they maintain good control at 120–140 km/h, and they brake flawlessly (neighbors downstream at traffic lights on winter tires were unable to stop before the stop line, but I had no issues). If I'm not mistaken, Michelin is also superior to the winter-tread Continental ContiWinter 5 since they are quiet and gentle rather than scouring the ruts at high speeds. Compared to PilotSport4, Winter Conti is difficult even at positive temperatures! I believe that this is the greatest option at a cost of 4880 per computer. There aren't any rivals in this market, and Continental SportContact 6 and 5 are considerably more expensive. I strongly advise.

Pros
  • Softer, less expensive, and runs well at high speeds (beyond 120) while handling ruts better than Conti.
Cons
  • The projector seems shallow at first glance. Most likely, it's just me.)
