What you'd expect: my feedback
These come tightly wound in a roll. And being made of plastic they hold that form. They instructed you to place them in a hot water bath so they relax and straighten out. I'm sure that would work, I used a steamer.That being said since they are plastic I definitely wouldn't set a hot pot on them like you could a cloth one. But they look nice and function as a normal place mat. The long runner won't conform to an edge of a table. It just sticks off and looks a little off.

- The placemats are not very spill-resistant, so they might not protect a table from spills and stains
