I installed this in a bracket just behind the sliding patio door. I like to sit outside late at night but dealing with all the flying bugs or not having enough light to see and move was a challenge. This little lightbulb solved the problem for me. There is enough light to see well but the flying bugs don't bother me and don't try to invade my house as I go in and out. I wouldn't want to use this for my front door because I'd like to have a white light with a dusk to dawn feature for both aesthetic and security reasons and I don't have a place to sit in front of the entryway to enjoy the bug-free Place if I used that lightbulb there. But it works great on my patio. Tip: If you install this light bulb next to a glass door, be sure to turn off the lights inside as well, otherwise you'll only attract bugs to those lights. I leave a small light on - either in the hallway a few feet from the glass door or above the stove in my kitchen - to reduce the chances of the bugs being attracted to the white light inside.
